In her short tenure, Hampton has seen a record setting 36 student-athletes named NJCAA Academic All-Americans. The tournament was a huge success embraced by the coaches, players, fans and the community of Council Bluffs.

Prior to her duties as Athletic Director, Hampton was at the helm of the Reiver Volleyball program for 15 years. She compiled a 504-199 overall record (.717 winning percentage) while guiding the Reivers to twelve 30-win seasons, three straight trips to the National Junior College Athletic Association Championships (1999, 2000, 2001) and numerous regional and district titles. In November of 2006, Hampton was selected to the NJCAA Volleyball Coaches Hall of Fame.
