Mary Pink is in her 11th year on the Iowa State athletics staff and her first as assistant athletics director.
Pink is responsible for the coordination of the marketing, branding and promotional strategies for ISU athletics and works with multimedia rights vendor Cyclone Sports Properties. She is directly
responsible for managing ISU's advertising accounts and media trade agreements with area television, radio and print outlets. She coordinates all game day events and promotions, including video board operations, contests, premium giveaways and presentations.
Pink oversees stadium and online merchandise sales; the graphic design unit; the pom, cheer and mascot squads; and serves as a liaison to ISU's Trademark Licensing Office and the Iowa State Band. Additionally, Pink instituted the popular Cyclone Alley student section, which boasts more than 2,400 members. She expanded the Lil' Clone Club to include all sports, one of the country's largest kids clubs with over 2,000 members. She also assists with letterwinners functions, including overseeing the first ever Football Letterwinners Reunion in 2005.
Football ticket sales have reached new levels with over 30,000 season-ticket holders and ISU recorded its highest average home football attendance mark (46,705) in 20 years last season. The Cyclones have also set home attendance records for women's basketball, volleyball, soccer and gymnastics during her tenure.
Pink began her career at ISU in 1995 as a program coordinator for the marketing office. She served as marketing manager and marketing director before assuming her new title in June 2005.
Pink serves as first vice president of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA) and is a member of the board of directors. She was voted the 1999-2000 Division IA NACMA/Host Communications Marketer-of-the-Year by her peers.
The Minneapolis (MN) native graduated from Colorado in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in communication. Mary and her husband, Kenny, have a daughter, Addison (1).
