Dennis Kalina is in his first year as associate athletic director for development at Gonzaga University.
Prior to Gonzaga, Kalina spent seven years on the Bradley University athletics executive staff, the last two of which were in the capacity of associate athletic director for external affairs.
Throughout his tenure at Bradley, Kalina oversaw the Braves' marketing efforts and served as the director of the Braves Club booster organization. Under Kalina's leadership, BU reached all-time record levels in Braves Club membership, donations to the athletics department and in athletics corporate sponsorships. The Braves also recently witnessed home single-game and season attendance records for men's basketball, women's basketball, soccer and volleyball. Kalina also monitored the Braves ticket office operation, while serving as the sport coordinator for baseball, men's golf, volleyball and women's tennis.
Kalina currently serves as the 2nd Vice President of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA). He is also a member of NACMA's board of directors.
A native of Portage (IN), Kalina earned both his bachelor's degree in sports marketing/management (1995) and master's degree in athletic administration (1996) from Indiana. While at Indiana, Kalina helped market the Hoosier football, men's soccer and women's basketball teams for three years.
Kalina moved to Natchitoches (LA) in 1997 to become the assistant athletic director for marketing at Northwestern State. During his 18 months at the NCAA Division I-AA school, Kalina directed all phases of the school's athletics marketing plans and oversaw all ticket sales operations. While helping Northwestern State establish football single-game and season attendance records in 1998, Kalina also increased corporate sponsorship packages, increased television opportunities for the athletic department, aided student-athletes in community service projects and created and maintained the inaugural NSU web page.
Kalina is married to the former Dina Nightenhelser. The couple resides in Spokane (WA) and are the proud parents of daughter Addison Shelby (1).
