Shawn Becket Position: Assistant Vice President/General Manager Institution: PITT ISP Sports Network

Shawn Becket serves as Assistant Vice President for ISP Sports and General Manager of the Pitt-ISP Sports Network. Shawn is responsible for a staff of five people as well as managing the Radio and TV talent, overseeing the property budget, clearance and programming of the Radio and Television networks, advertising sales including; Media, Signage, Print, Internet and Event sponsorship sales directed towards corporate sponsorship prospects across the region, and managing the relationship with the University of Pittsburgh, as part of their multi-media and marketing rights agreement.

Prior to Pitt, Shawn served as Assistant Vice President and General Manager of the Baylor-ISP Sports Network for 2 years and served as Senior Account Manager of Auburn-ISP Network prior to that. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native graduated from Ohio University with a B.S. in Sports Science in 1996 and obtained his Master of Education (Athletics Administration) from Auburn University in 1998. Prior to working with ISP Sports, Shawn worked within the Auburn University Athletics Department as part of the sports marketing staff for 2 years then began with Auburn Network Inc. as an Account Executive during the 1999-2000 year. Shawn has been a National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics member since 1997 and served on the Board of Directors for the organization since 2006. He also served as Chair of the Sponsorship Committee for the past year and helped lead the organization to a record year in sponsorship sales.

Shawn is a member of the Pittsburgh Advertising Federation and is associated in fundraising efforts for his High School Alma Mater, Shady Side Academy in Pittsburgh. Shawn also volunteers his time to consult on marketing and sponsorship opportunities at the High School level. Shawn is married to the former Kristin Walsten of Manhattan, Kansas. She is a labor and delivery nurse at UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Shawn and Kristin are expecting their first child in July.
