Duke University Athletics is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Iron Dukes Intern. The Intern will be exposed to a variety of opportunities that will prepare him/her for a career in athletics fundraising. Responsibilities include: assisting with the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of current and prospective donors, allocation and distribution of tickets and parking passes for football and men's and women's basketball, assisting with the Iron Dukes Ticket Exchange program, assisting with donor receptions, banquets, and other special events, managing donor records and information, and general day-to-day duties in the Iron Dukes office. The Intern will also be directly responsible for the oversight of Duke Athletics student pep club - The Inferno. Qualifications include a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Preference will be given to candidates with a desire for a career in Intercollegiate Athletics, especially athletics fundraising. Knowledge of desktop publishing software (Adobe In Design, Photoshop, etc.) is preferred. The position is a 10-12 month assignment beginning May 2008. Some nights and weekends required. The Intern will receive a monthly stipend of $1,250 plus benefits.
