Millikin University has reopened its search for the Director of Athletics & Recreation. The University invites applications and nominations for the position. Millikin University is a member of the NCAA Division III and the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). The University is a four-year undergraduate university with 2,600 full-time students enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Fine Arts, College of Professional Studies, and Tabor School of Business. Millikin is situated on an attractive seventy-acre campus in Decatur, IL (population of 85,000) 180 miles southwest of Chicago, 150 miles west of Indianapolis, and 120 miles northeast of St. Louis. This is a twelve-month administrative position reporting to the Vice President for Enrollment. Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience providing leadership in NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics, resource management, demonstrated success in working with booster clubs, college teaching and coaching experience and the ability to recruit and retain student athletes. The successful candidate must demonstrate an ability to manage multiple facilities, athletics and recreation construction and to support the University's development efforts.

Minimum Required Qualifications: Master's degree. Teaching and academic advising in higher education strongly preferred. Experience in supervising coaches and support staff. Excellent team building, supervision and communication skills. Significant successful college athletic administrative experience with knowledge of NCAA regulations and compliance processes and programming. Demonstrated leadership ability, administrative and fiscal management skills. A demonstrated commitment to continuing the tradition of academic excellence and graduation of student-athletes and the collegial integration of athletics into the University's academic community. Demonstrated commitment to gender equity in all phases of athletic and recreational programming. Ability to work effectively with staff, faculty, students, parents and alumni from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Ability to effectively fundraise for the intercollegiate athletics program. Impeccable record of personal and professional integrity.
