The Deputy Director of Athletics will report to the Director of Athletics and Recreational Services and serve as a member of the senior management team. Working with a talented group of administrators, the Deputy Director of Athletics is responsible for all aspects of budget and financial management for the department; marketing, ticket sales, sponsorships; contract and facilities management; administrative management; and, personnel management, consistent with the University mission and in compliance with NCAA regulations. This work will require the ability to plan and implement policies, procedures, and best practices. The position assists and advises the Director of Athletics in other areas at the Director's discretion.

The Deputy Director of Athletics will demonstrate professionalism and leadership in representing the department at internal and external functions as necessary, exercising maturity and good judgment in achieving the department's goals and objectives, demonstrating excellent communication skills to all constitutes while maintaining confidentiality where appropriate.

The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in business or sports management and eight years of high level athletic administrative experience at the NCAA-Division I college level and extensive experience in the financial management of a complex department. The candidate will have relevant fiscal and business training and experience, strong organizational ability, demonstrated leadership and advocacy skills, excellent communication skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitive administrative issues, and strong computer and writing skills.
