Jane Claiborne Position: Associate Director of Athletics Institution: Valparaiso University

Jane Claiborne, the Associate Director of Athletics for Administrative Services at Valparaiso University, has been a member of the Crusader athletics department since 1995.

Promoted to her current role in 2006, Claiborne is the department's liaison for human resources, information services, and payroll in addition to serving as the sport administrator for men's soccer, men and women's cross country and men and women's tennis. She is also responsible for the department's administrative assistants. In addition, she acts as the coordinator for the athletics' internship program, manages the department's administrative budget, and administers the NCAA Special Assistance Fund.

Claiborne began working in the athletics department in 1995 when she served as the Assistant to the Director of Athletics/Athletics Office Manager. In that role, she coordinated and administered various activities in support of the athletics program. Claiborne also supervised the recruiting office, a responsibility that she maintains today in her current role. She was promoted to the Assistant Director of Athletics for Administrative Services in 2005.

Actively involved in various organizations, she was the staff co-chair of Valparaiso University's "Three Goals, One Promise" $75 million fundraising campaign. Claiborne also was a co-chair for the 1995 and 2006 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observance on campus, a role in which she is fulfilling again in 2007. Claiborne has served as a mentor in the Office of Multicultural Programs, advisor to the Black Student Organization, and has also been a member of Hilltop Neighborhood House Board of Directors.

Claiborne received both her bachelor's and master's degrees from Valparaiso University. She is married with two daughters and resides in Valparaiso, Indiana.
