Clint Bryant Position: Director of Athletics Institution: Augusta State University

Now in his 20th year as Director of Athletics at Augusta State University, Clint Bryant continues his tireless efforts in providing the vision and guidance necessary to maintain ASU's status of one of the nation's premier Division II athletics programs.

ASU enjoyed perhaps its top season in school history in 2006-07 when six of the Jaguars' 10 programs qualified for NCAA Regional competition and five of the 10 teams earned national rankings in their respective sports.

A member of various committees with the NCAA, Bryant was recently named to the Diversity Leadership Strategic Planning Committee. He currently serves as chair of the Division II Project Team Related to Issues of Diversity and is the second vice president of the Black Coaches Association Board of Directors.

Bryant's tenure at ASU also includes nine seasons as ASU's men's basketball head coach from 1988-1997.

Heavily involved in the community, Bryant currently serves as President of the Greater Augusta Sports Council and is a co-founder of the NIKE Peach Jam, the premiere summer amateur basketball festival in the nation. He also serves on the Board of Directors of both the Augusta Boys Club and Augusta Boxing Club, the Forest Hills Golf Club Management Board and the 30901 Development Board. He also serves as chair of the Beulah Grove Resource Center and is a past member of the United Way of the CSRA Board of Directors and a past president of the 100 Black Men of Augusta, Inc.

Bryant earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Belmont Abbey College in 1977 and received a master's degree in personnel services in 1980 from Clemson University.

Bryant is married to the former Patricia Sweeney of Piedmont, S.C. They have two daughters, Lauren Ashley (18), a freshman at Georgetown University, and Kristin Amanda (16).
